Jonathan Santry started training in the martial arts at the age of 8 and has never looked back. At 9 years old he was a member of the Lancashire Judo squad but also had a keen interest in karate. So he also started training in Shukokai karate under the UKASKO organisation run by Roy Stanhope.
After a brief period with the FSKA he joined Joe Tierny’s Shorai association where he graded up to a 2nd Dan at the age of only 15. After this he followed his long time instructors John Salt and Dave Morris when they broke away from Shorai to form Elite International Martial Arts where he remains a member and instructor of to the present day.
Jon has competed extensively in sport Karate and won numerous British titles before
moving on to Full contact competition under Kickboxing, K-
Jon is still actively competing and won his Pro MMA debut at Ross Pointon’s, “Night of The Gladiators 2” in just 25 seconds!
As well as his martial arts Accolades Jon is also a qualified gym instructor (YMCA) and, “ Exercise on prescription “, consultant (Wright Foundation). He has worked extensively in schools and colleges teaching martial arts and self protection courses as a Stockport MBC approved schools coach.
He has also worked regularly with the elderly teaching Tai chi at various venues, including work for Age Concern and has done extensive work with security personnel from various fields sharing the knowledge he gained from the best part of a decade of front line security work.
